What we do, who we are
What is Pixel Architecture?
A web studio that exclusively builds websites, portals, e-commerce, and SEO/AI-search systems for construction businesses. A project of Pixel Labs, our parent software studio.
Why only construction?
Because we already build software for construction clients. We know the buying patterns, the field-vs-office split, the seasonality, the trust gap. Vertical specialization means we ship better work in less time - and our pricing reflects that.
What's "a project of Pixel Labs" mean?
Pixel Labs is the parent studio - a software house that builds estimating tools, contractor portals, and B2B platforms. Pixel Architecture is the marketing-website + SEO arm. When you hire us, you get the front-end studio plus the option to plug into the parent for custom software later.
Are you remote?
Yes. We work with clients globally, with focus on the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and the Gulf. Most communication happens over Loom + a shared workspace + scheduled calls.
Do you take clients outside construction?
No. If you found us and you're outside the trades, we love that - and we'll happily refer you to a partner agency that's a better fit.
What it costs, how you pay
Do I really pay $0 upfront?
Yes. You pay nothing to start. We scope the project, build the site, and deliver a live preview. Once you are 100% satisfied with the delivery, you release payment. If you are not satisfied, we keep iterating. Our risk, your upside.
What's the payment structure?
$0 upfront. Single payment on satisfied delivery. We accept ACH or wire (preferred), card, and for larger contractors, invoiced 30-day terms after delivery.
Is the price actually transparent?
Yes. The numbers on the pricing page are the total numbers. We define scope on day one and stick to it. If you want to add scope mid-project, we quote it transparently before any work happens.
Do you offer refunds?
The model removes the need for refunds. You pay $0 to start. If you are not satisfied with the delivery, you do not pay. We carry the risk, you carry the upside.
What's the cheapest you can do?
$750, the Starter package, fully featured for a 5-page launch. Below that we'd be cutting corners we won't cut. And that $750 is paid only when the site is delivered and you are happy with it.
Can we negotiate?
The transparent packages are the answer to "how do we negotiate", everyone gets the same fair price. Multi-build, multi-location, or annual retainer engagements can be priced collectively at a discount.
How we build, how long
How long does a project take?
Starter: 10 days. Growth: 18 days. Pro: 30 to 40 days, depending on portal or store complexity. We hit our timelines, they're built into the contract.
What do you need from me?
Honest answers in the discovery call, prompt feedback at each milestone (we ask for 48-hour turnaround), and access to brand/photo assets if any exist. We do most of the heavy lifting.
Do you write the content?
Yes. We write the entire site (and 3-15 blog posts depending on package). You review, suggest tweaks, and approve. We've spent years writing for construction buyers - we'll capture your voice better than a generalist copywriter.
Can I see progress mid-build?
Yes. You get a live staging URL by week two. You can click around, break things, and leave comments at any moment. No black-box "reveal day."
What if I need to delay?
Life happens. We can pause once for up to 30 days at no cost. Beyond that we charge a small re-onboarding fee to get the team back into context.
Visuals, code, technology
Do you use templates?
No. Every site is custom-designed and hand-coded. No theme purchases, no page-builder Frankensteins.
What technology do you use?
Hand-coded HTML/CSS/JS for marketing sites (fast, future-proof), Next.js or Astro for content-heavy builds, and bespoke stacks for portals based on the requirements. We choose tools that serve your operation, not ours.
Will it work on phones?
Yes - mobile-first, responsive, performance-tested on real devices. Most contractor traffic is mobile, and we design for that reality first.
Will I be able to edit content myself?
Yes. Every build ships with a documented CMS appropriate to scale (Decap, Sanity, or custom admin) plus a Loom walkthrough so non-technical team members can update text, images, services, and projects.
What about 3D motion - does it slow the site?
No. We use it sparingly, lazy-load heavy assets, and respect prefers-reduced-motion. Lighthouse 95+ is part of the contract - motion never costs performance.
Getting found in 2026 and beyond
Will my site rank on Google?
Ranking takes time and depends on your competition - we won't promise position. What we do guarantee: technical SEO done right (schema, sitemap, internal linking, performance), on-page optimization for your priority keywords, and a Google Business Profile that's wired correctly. The fastest wins typically show in 60-120 days.
What about ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews?
Every build ships with the AI-search stack: llms.txt for crawler instructions, citation-ready answer blocks, semantic HTML, structured data, and authoritative content patterns AI assistants prefer. As AI search becomes the dominant discovery layer, sites we build are positioned to be cited.
What's llms.txt?
A new emerging standard (think robots.txt for AI crawlers). It tells AI assistants which content on your site to prioritize when generating responses. It's optional today and table-stakes by next year. We ship it on every build.
Do you do local SEO?
Yes - Google Business Profile setup, local citations across 3-25 directories depending on package, local schema, and per-city landing pages where it makes sense for multi-market firms.
What if I want ongoing SEO work?
Add the monthly retainer ($600/mo). Includes content writing, link building, conversion experiments, AI-search re-tuning, and quarterly strategy reviews.
What's yours, what we keep doing
Do I own the source code?
Yes - 100%. We hand over a Git repository, design files, and full credentials at launch. Copyright transfers to your business in the contract.
Where is my site hosted?
Hosting is included for life on a high-performance global edge platform (Vercel, Netlify, or Cloudflare depending on stack). No monthly hosting bill, ever. If you ever want to migrate to your own infrastructure, we hand over the source code and walk your team through the move at no cost.
What if I want to switch agencies later?
You can. Everything is yours. We've designed the system so any competent dev shop could pick it up tomorrow without re-platforming. We hope you stay, but we don't lock you in.
What's the free technical support window?
Starter: 1 month free. Growth and Pro: 3 months free. Bug fixes, content updates, broken-link patches, and minor adjustments are included. After that, jump on the monthly retainer or pay per change.
The trades-only stuff
Do you build for residential or commercial?
Both. We've built sites for residential GCs, kitchen/bath remodelers, plumbing & HVAC operators, commercial GCs, B2B tool/material suppliers, and construction startups. The conversion principles transfer - the buyer language doesn't, and we tune for that.
Can you handle multi-location?
Yes - Pro tier or as a Growth add-on. Per-city landing pages, location schema, multi-market local SEO, optional per-location lead routing.
Can you build a custom estimating tool?
Yes - that's literally what Pixel Labs (our parent studio) specializes in. Add it as a Pro add-on or scope it as a separate engagement.
Do you build for tool/supply e-commerce?
Yes. B2B features included: contractor accounts, wholesale tiers, bulk-order workflows, ship-to-job-site logistics. Available as Pro tier or e-commerce add-on.
What about an AI receptionist for after-hours leads?
Yes - included in Growth and Pro. Captures voice/SMS/web-chat leads 24/7, qualifies them, and books calendar slots so you don't lose the 9pm emergency calls.
Question we didn't cover?
Send it. We'll answer (and probably add it to this page).
